The Chemotherapy Day Unit is a nurse-led unit staffed by specialist chemotherapy nurses.
As well as administering chemotherapy, our nurses provide advice and support to you on the different steps of your treatment journey.
We also treat a small number of haematology patients who have a haematological diagnosis, which is managed with chemotherapy, as well as a small number of gastroenterology and rheumatology patients.
The chemotherapy day unit also runs a helpline for patients, 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
We are able to provide a range of supportive therapies and have close working links with specialist nursing teams, oncologists, haematologists, acute oncology service and other members of the wider multidisciplinary teams.
Service opening times
- The Chemotherapy Day Unit is based in the Tranwell Unit at the QE Hospital
- The service is open between 8:00 – 20:00 Monday – Friday
